BCIC-New Ventures Competition
The BCIC-New Ventures Competition was founded in 2000 as a means of recognizing and encouraging entrepreneurship in BC's technology sector. Proposals are tried and tested as you move through competition, developing a solid business plan, making the contacts you may need to form a strong management team, and accessing the expertise needed to launch a successful business. The competition offers more than $300,000 in prizes each year.
National Research Council-Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP)
NRC-IRAP helps innovative small and medium-sized Canadian businesses grow through innovation. Delivered by a network of over 210 professionals located in more than 100 communities across Canada, NRC-IRAP supports the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in innovative or technology-driven activities. The Program provides a suite of advisory services, networking and linkages, and non-repayable financial assistance to SMEs. These services are adapted to the SMEs’ industrial, socio-economic and geographic make-up in order to provide a customized response to their development needs.
The National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) aims to make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians. The agency supports university students in their advanced studies, promotes and supports discovery research, and fosters innovation by encouraging Canadian companies to participate and invest in postsecondary research projects. NSERC researchers are on the vanguard of science, building on Canada’s long tradition of scientific excellence.
Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED)
The SR&ED Program is a federal tax incentive program, administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), that encourages Canadian businesses of all sizes, and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada. It is the largest single source of federal government support for industrial R&D intended to encourage business to conduct research that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes.
Concierge Service through NRC
The Government of Canada’s new Concierge Service assists SMEs in navigating the many available innovation resources and support programs offered by the government and selecting the right options to meet their needs. Concierge Advisors have extensive networks and expertise, as well as knowledge about a range of industrial sectors for clients to benefit from. 

MentorshipBC is an online resource for small business owners in BC to find and access mentor programs available to them. Using the search tool on the MentorshipBC homepage will provide users with a list of mentorship programs that most closely suit their needs. 
GreenTech Exchange
The GreenTech Exchange (GTEx) is a pathfinder organization engaging solution providers with industries and investors. It has delivered over seventy educational forums and networking events in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island to several thousands of participants.  GTEx participants span several groups including: business, entrepreneur & SME, industry, investment, service provider, government & agency, as well as academia.

Mitacs-Accelerate Program
Mitacs-Accelerate is Canada’s premiere research internship program. It connects companies with over 50 research-based universities through graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, who apply their specialized expertise to business research challenges. Interns transfer their skills from theory to real-world application, while the companies gain a competitive advantage by accessing high-quality research expertise.
Small Business BC
A public and private sector collaboration, Small Business BC is the comprehensive Business Development Resource for people exploring opportunities, launching new ventures and growing existing businesses.
Export Development Canada (EDC)
EDC is Canada's export credit agency, offering innovative financing, insurance and risk management solutions to help Canadian exporters and investors expand their international business.
Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP)
Formerly known as the Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program (CICP) and originally announced in Budget 2010 as a two year pilot program, Budget 2012 committed $95 million over three years, starting in 2013-14, and $40 million per year thereafter to make the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) permanent and to add a military procurement component.
Industry Canada
The Department works with Canadians throughout the economy and in all parts of the country to improve conditions for investment, improve Canada's innovation performance, increase Canada's share of global trade and build a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace.
Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC)
SDTC is a not-for-profit foundation that finances and supports the development and demonstration of clean technologies which provide solutions to issues of climate change, clean air, water quality and soil, and which deliver economic, environmental and health benefits to Canadians.
Creative BC
Creative BC provides professional expertise and business support to strengthen BC's motion picture, interactive digital, music and publishing sectors. Their programs, services and investments act as a catalyst to help these sectors realize their economic and creative potential and contribute to the future prosperity of our province. 
The Digital Media Association of BC (DigiBC) promotes, supports and accelerates the growth, sustainability and competitiveness of BC's digital media industry. They're a non-profit organization with over 1,300 companies in their tech sectors, creating innovative products in wireless and mobile, video gaming, animation and VFX, digital marketing in all of its forms, web development and online marketing agencies, VR/AR development & applications and e-learning. 
Trade and Invest BC
Trade and Invest B.C. works with international enterprises to help them build strong links to the resources, skills and businesses that make British Columbia an attractive place to work and invest. They support international organizations who want to do business with British Columbia’s innovative and competitive manufacturers and service providers. They help them discover how they can profit from our world-class goods and services in clean technology, the life sciences, digital media and film production, as well as tourism, education, forestry, and mining.
